Nearly 3 million tourists visited the city of Marrakech in 2019, up by 8% compared to the year before, the Regional Tourism Council has said.
The city recorded more than 8 million overnight stays in 2019 with an occupancy rate of 61%, the Council pointed out following a meeting dedicated to the assessment of achievements in the previous year as well as to the presentation of the competitiveness acceleration plan for the period 2020-2022.
The meeting was attended mainly by head of the Marrakech regional tourism council, Hamid Bentahar, and director general of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), Adel El Fakir.
