Morocco has started airport health checks as safety measure against the deadly new coronavirus outbreak, the Health Ministry said on Saturday in a press release relayed by the state news agency.

«Morocco has established health checks at international ports and airports to detect any possible case imported and stop the spread of the virus, if necessary», the ministry’s statement read.

The ministry says it continues to consider that «the risk of spreading the virus on the national territory is low and confirms, once again, that no suspected or confirmed case has been recorded to date».

It is also reassuring for the public opinion that the national system for epidemiological surveillance has been strengthened and that the virological diagnostic and care system for potential patients is operational.
