The first forum for tolerance of the Moroccan Judeo-Amazigh heritage opened Monday in Agadir and will run till February 7.
This event aims to spread the values of tolerance and coexistence between religions, as well as to highlight this heritage as part of the common identity of Moroccans.
«This cultural event will be marked by the organization of a photo exhibition, cultural activities, conferences as well as a tourist visit to the synagogue of Agadir, the Rabbi David Ben Baroukh Mausoleum and the Mellah of Inezgane», said president of the association governance for development and communication, Ghizlane Cheggar.
For her part, Zhor Rehihil, curator of the Museum of Moroccan Judaism, said the institution participates in this forum with a photo exhibition of the Kingdom's Jewish historical sites, including places of worship and cemeteries, highlighting the role of this cultural event in the enhancement of the Jewish-Amazigh heritage as a component of Moroccan identity.
