Morocco purchases Lockheed Martin’s night vision system for its Apache helicopters

American global aerospace, defense, security, and advanced technologies company Lockheed Martin has been awarded a MAD1.4 billion contract ($154,979,758) for «Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor System (M-TADS/PNVS) systems for the Apache attack helicopter in support of the Moroccan government».

«Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Aug. 31, 2023», the US Department of State reported.

In November, the US State Department approved a military sale to Morocco of thirty-six AH-64 E Apache attack helicopters and related equipment.

In a press release made public, Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) stated that it had delivered the required certification notifying Congress of the $4.25 billion worth (about 40 billion dirhams) possible sale on 19 November.

In August, the American administration approved the sale of 24 American Apache helicopters to the Moroccan Air Force, for the price of 1.5 billion dollars, according to the website of the International Trade Administration, under the United States Department of Commerce.
