The judicial police of Tangier seized, Monday, in coordination with the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), a ton and 150 kg of chira, hidden in a fishing boat at the port of the same city.
The seizure of these additional quantities of drug follows the preliminary investigation carried out by the judicial police of Tangier after the seizure on Sunday in the same city of 135 kg of chira intended for international drug trafficking by sea, said a press release from the National Police (DGSN).

On Sunday, members of the judicial police in charge of investigating this case arrested an individual in the Fnideq region for his alleged involvement in the organization of this criminal activity, the statement said, adding that security operations are still going on to shed light on the possible ramifications of this criminal activity locally and internationally, and arrest all potential accomplices.
This operation is part of the intense and ongoing efforts made by the police services (DGSN), in coordination with the DGST, to fight against drug and psychotropic pills trafficking, the statement concluded.
