Police in Agadir arrested, Monday, a 46-year-old woman for sharing a video in which she allegedly insulted members of the Moroccan community residing abroad, inciting hatred and discrimination.

The national security services conducted detailed investigations after discovering a video broadcast on social media in which appears a woman making abusive, defamatory and insulting comments against Moroccan citizens residing abroad, and inciting hatred against them because of the development of the epidemic of the new coronavirus at the international level, said a statement by the national police(DGSN).

Searches and technical expertise carried out by the national security services made it possible to identify and arrest the suspect at her home in Inzegane, added the same source.

She has been placed in police custody to complete the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office to determine the ins and outs of this case, which is part of the efforts of the national security services to deal with digital content relating to criminal acts or falsified data in connection with the coronavirus epidemic, the statement concluded.
