Covid-19 : Over 1,000 Moroccans stranded in Turkey accomodated in Istanbul's hotels

More than a thousand Moroccans stranded in Turkey have been accommodated until March 23 in several hotels in the city of Istanbul, after the suspension of flights amid the coronavirus outbreak, said Saturday the Moroccan Consulate General in Istanbul.

According to the same source, 479 rooms have been booked in 16 hotels in Istanbul to provide stranded Moroccans in Turkey with accommodation and food. 

The diplomatic representation also commended the behavior of Moroccans in Istanbul, who displayed solidarity in these difficult circumstances.

Following the spread of the coronavirus, the Moroccan embassy in Ankara in coordination with the Consulate General in Istanbul had set up a monitoring and support unit for the Moroccan community in Turkey in order to provide them with the necessary support.

The Moroccan embassy had also provided hotlines to the Moroccan community to provide them with the necessary assistance, calling on them to scrupulously observe all the precautionary measures issued by the Turkish authorities to stop the spread of the pandemic.combat the spread of the epidemic.
