The head of Hamas’ political bureau Ismail Haniyeh held a phone call with Morocco’s head of government Saadeddine El Othmani on Sunday, April 12, the Islamist movement announced in a press release.

The Hamas leader briefed El Othmani about the situation in the Gaza strip and urged Morocco to help the country deal with the coronavirus crisis.

Haniyeh asked El Othmani to help with «ventilators, testing kits and medicine related to the treatment of the coronavirus». He also urged Morocco to assist Palestinians living in refugee camps in Lebanon and Syria.

El Othmani promised Haniyeh to transmit «the requests to the king of Morocco». For the record, Morocco built, in 2012 and 2018, field hospitals in Gaza.
