Policemen on Tuesday arrested six people in Rabat, including a woman and a 17-year-old minor, for their alleged involvement in manufacturing and selling face masks that do not meet health standards.

The suspects were arrested in the Old Medina of Rabat while selling, without an authorization, protective masks that do not meet public health standards, National Police said in a press release, adding that search operations led to the seizure of 548 face masks and three sewing machines.

The minor was placed under control, while the other suspects were placed on custody, the source said, adding that investigations are underway under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office.
