Sixty-six people have tested positive for the coronavirus in a prison in southern Morocco, the Moroccan authorities said in a press release quoted by the national press agency.
Most of the confirmed cases recorded within the Ouarzazate facility are from the staff. Six inmates only have tested positive for the virus.
To avoid the spread of the novel coronavirus, Morocco has implemented a lockdown, imposing on people working and going outside to wear masks.
Despite these preventive measures, sanitary authorities announced in the last couple of days that industrial units and factories have become hotbeds for the virus, after several workers have tested positive for the virus.
