Coronavirus : 96 people arrested for manufacturing, selling and trying to export face masks

Police across the Kingdom have arrested 96 people suspected of manufacturing, selling and attempting to export face masks that do not comply with health standards.

The arrestees were involved in 53 in 15 cities, said the National Police (DGSN) in a press release, adding that 213,511 face masks were seized, including masks produced randomly and not in compliance with safety standards, others bearing counterfeit trade marks, which do not meet health and safety conditions and which threaten the safety of citizens.

The arrested have been remanded in police custody, said the DGSN, adding that the police seized all products, materials and masks produced outside the legal framework.
