Morocco records 190 new confirmed coronavirus cases, 3,758 in total

As of Friday, April 24, 190 new confirmed coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 3,758.

During a daily press briefing, the head of the epidemiology and the fight against infectious diseases department at the Ministry of Health, Mohamed Lyoubi said that the coronavirus death toll has reached 158 while the number of recovered cases stands at 486.


He also added that 20,175people have tested negative so far after undergoing coronavirus tests. Lyoubi said that 85% of the confirmed cases recorded today (163) are from the hotbeds previously identified by the health authorities.

Since March 2, the Casablanca-Settat remains the region with the highest number of infections, 2housing 27% of all cases. It is followed by Marrakech-Safi (22%), Fes-Meknes and Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (13%) and Draâ-Tafilalet (10%).
