The «Beti» group of surveying engineers, in collaboration with the local authorities, launched drones on Monday in the city of Témara (near Rabat) to ensure compliance with the state of health emergency.

As part of the fight against Covid-19, Beti has proposed to deploy drones in Témara to ensure that the containment measures are respected.

«The group of surveying engineers has previously worked with the prefecture of Témara in the field of mass data collection», Abdelhak Essadiki, a surveying engineer and member of the Beti group, told the press, noting that the local authorities have once again asked the Beti group to provide the necessary assistance in the detection of gatherings and groups of people by means of drones deployed in the city.

«To handle this situation, drones use two technologies», Essadiki said, explaining that the first are drones equipped with high-precision visual cameras that can quickly detect people's movements, see them up close and even deter them from staying outside.

In a second step, added the topographer, it is a question of equipping the drones with very precise thermal cameras, which make it possible to detect body temperature, and thus people, even in total darkness.

«The geographical coordinates are directly transferred to the territorial authorities and national police via the location applications, who can then move directly to the assembly area», noted the engineer.
