Seventy-five prisons are now free from the new coronavirus, both among prisoners and staff, the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) announced on Friday in a press release.
For the local prison Tangier 1, the DGAPR affirms that 48 of the 66 prisoners declared contaminated have been completely cured, while 14 prisoners are in quarantine pending the results of the tests they have undergone, and this after having completed the treatment protocol.
Only one case is still under treatment, while two detainees died and two others were released, said the Delegation.
It notes that 15 of the 26 infected employees have recovered, while 11 are still in quarantine.
