Active coronavirus cases and future ones in Morocco will be housed in two specialized hospitals located in Benslimane and Ben Guerir, the Ministries of Interior and Health announced Saturday in a joint press release.

This measure, which will enter into force on June 20, is expected to speed up the easing of lockdown measures in Morocco.

According to the same press release, the current 700 active cases will be moved to said hospitals to help free health facilities in the Kingdom to treat other patients.

The two hospitals will be managed by civilian and military health workers, it added.

The measure will be accompanied by the continuation of massive screening for Covid-19 contacts, as well as within companies and work spaces throughout the national territory.
