The epidemiological situation in Morocco is «very reassuring», Health minister Khalid Ait Taleb said on Sunday.
During an online conference, the Minister said Morocco «has managed to overcome this ordeal with strength and courage, relying on the mobilization and combined efforts of all stakeholders», noting that the recovery rate has reached 90%, while the case-fatality rate has not exceeded 2.5%.
Ait Taleb reported the daily average of coronavirus tests carried out in the country now stands at 20,000.
In connection with the theme of the conference, the minister praised the leading role played by private clinics in the fight against this pandemic, by making available their technical means and qualified human resources, who volunteered alongside their colleagues in the public sector to provide care for patients in the intensive care and resuscitation units.
He considered it «necessary» to consolidate this joint action and close ranks to manage the constraints hampering the development of the national health system, with a view to meeting citizens' aspirations and guaranteeing them «fluid access to care».
