Three Moroccan men escaped, Friday, a migrant facility at Porto Airport, Portugal. Six hours later, they were caught and returned there, Portugal Resident reports.
The three migrants are part of a group of 22 Moroccans who were intercepted by maritime police in Algarve on June 15, recalls the same source.
The men in question escaped the facility at around 4pm and were caught at around 10pm by the police and the border authority in Matosinhos, a city and a municipality in the northern Porto district of Portugal.
«They took advantage of a moment’s distraction to escape from an area that is not a detention cell, and thus doesn’t have the same security conditions as one», PSP police commissioner André Rodrigues said.
The Moroccans are expected to be repatriated after they arrived in Portugal on a seven-meter boat after sailing for three days. They said that they come from the city of El Jadida.
