The central Bureau of judicial investigations (BCIJ), under the general Directorate of territorial surveillance (DGST), dismantled, on Tuesday, on the basis of precise intelligence information, a terror cell composed of four members active in Nador and its surroundings. Its members are aged between 21 and 26 years, including the brother of a fighter in the ranks of ISIS, according to a statement by the ministry of Interior.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the members of this cell, supporters of the so-called «Islamic State» organization, decided to carry out terrorist attacks targeting sensitive sites in the Kingdom, the statement added.
Those arrested were closely linked to members of the terror cell with terrorist projects, which was dismantled on 04/12/2019 as part of a joint security cooperation between the Moroccan security services and their Spanish counterparts, the ministry pointed out.
The suspects have been taken into custody for further investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, the statement concluded.
