Mosques will gradually reopen in Morocco on July 15, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced Tuesday in a press release.
The decision takes into account the epidemiological situation and is expected to respect the health measures set to avoid the spread of the new coronavirus.
However, the ban on Friday prayers will be maintained, the Ministry stressed, urging worshippers with suspicious Covid-19 symptoms to avoid going to mosques.
Furthermore, the Ministry stressed that worshippers in the mosque must abide by the set of preventive measures and observe social distancing, including wearing face masks and keeping a one and a half meters distance when praying.
The Ministry also stressed the need to avoid gathering inside the mosque, before and after prayers, and to avoid handshaking.
