570 new coronavirus cases were recorded during the past 24 hours in Morocco, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 18,834.
228 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 16,100, with a recovery rate of 85.5%.
Seven deaths were recorded (5 in Tangier and 1 in Ouazzane and 1 in Meknes), bringing the death toll to 297. The number of active cases in Morocco is 2,435, most of them are in the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma region (789), Casablanca-Settat (619) and Fez-Meknes (510).
46 of the active cases are in critical condition, including 7 of them that are on ventilators. These cases are located in Casablanca-Settat (20), Marrakech-Safi (15), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (5), Fès-Meknes (4) and (2) in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra.
Most of the new cases were recorded in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceïma region, with 207 infections : 199 in Tangier, 4 in Al Fahs Anjra, 2 in Tetouan, 1 in Al Hoceïma and 1 in M'diq.
Next comes Casablanca-Settat with 206 new cases : 120 cases in Berrechid, 83 in Casablanca and 3 in Settat.
In Fes-Meknes, 80 new cases were confirmed : 70 in Fez and 10 cases in Meknes. Rabat-Salé-Kénitra recorded 24 new cases : 17 in Sidi Kacem, two cases in Kénitra, two in Témara, one case in Sidi Slimane, one case in Sale and one case in Rabat.
In the Oriental region, 21 cases were recorded in Jerada, while two others were confirmed in Driouch and Nador.
For its part, Marrakech-Safi recorded 21 new cases : 14 in Marrakech, 5 in Kelaat Sraghna, one case in Safi and one case in the province of El Haouz.
5 cases were recorded in Dakhla (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab), two cases in Midelt (Drâa-Tafilalet), one case in Chtouka Ait Baha (Souss-Massa) and one case in Laayoune (Laayoune -Sakia El Hamra).
