A number of Irish politicians, senators, MEPs and prominent businessmen have extended their wishes to King Mohammed VI on the 21st anniversary of his accession to the throne.
In a video shared online and sent to Morocco’s ambassador to Dublin, they also hailed ties with Morocco and hoped to further strengthen them. Said video included the statement of Ceann Comhairle, the chairperson of Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas of Ireland.
«Morocco is not just a fantastic place to holiday but a great country with which to do business», he said, wishing the Sovereign a happy Throne Day. The Speaker of the Irish Senate Mark Daly spoke in the same video, stressing that he «looks forward to deepening the bonds of friendship between the two countries in the years ahead».
Said video included the statement of the founder and chief executive officer of «Digital Business Ireland» Lorraine Higgins. After extending wishes to Moroccans and King Mohammed VI on the national day, Higgins said she was «blow away by the friendliness of the people and the vast progression of business in Morocco over the past number of decades» when visiting last year.
The same video included the messages the Ireland’s current minister of Justice and Equality Helen McEntee, the Lord Mayor of Dublin Hazel Chu, Apostolic Nuncia and Dean of Diplomatic Corps Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo, former Justice Minister and MEP Frances Fitzgerald and Irish deputy Charles Flansagan among others.
