Morocco sets new daily infections record with 1,776 new coronavirus cases

1,776 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 41,017.

922 new recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 28,566.

21 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 632. These deaths were recorded in Casablanca (6), Marrakech (2), Fez (4), Tangier (2), Essaouira (1), Errachidia (1), Rhamna (1), Boulmane (1), Salé (1 ), Agadir (1) and Tan Tan (1).

Morocco now has 11,819 active cases under treatment. 154 of them are in a serious or critical condition, including 71 on ventilators.

Most of the new cases were recorded in the Casablanca region

Most of the new cases were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, with 802 new infections : 651 in Casablanca, 41 in Berrechid, 40 in Mediouna, 33 in Mohammedia, 13 in Settat, 8 in Nouaceur, 6 in El Jadida, 5 in Sidi Bennour and 5 in Benslimane. Next comes Marrakech-Safi with 256 cases : 229 in Marrakech, 10 in Essaouira, 8 in Al Haouz, 4 in Rhamna, 3 in Safi and 1 in El Youssoufia.

For the first time, the Beni-Mellal-Khenifra region is the third most affected by the pandemic in 24 hours, with 180 new cases: 98 in Beni-Mellal, 51 in Azilal, 15 in Fqih Bensalah, 8 in Khenifra and 8 in Khouribga.

Fez-Meknes follows with 159 infections: 69 in Fez, 33 in Meknes, 26 in Boulemane, 15 in El Hajeb, 9 in Taounate, 6 in Sefrou and 1 in Taza. For its part, Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima identified 157 cases: 86 in Tangier, 35 in Tetouan, 20 in Larache, 13 in Al Hoceima, 2 in Al Fahs Anjra, 1 in M'diq-Fnideq.

Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, with 69 new infections: 30 in Temara, 25 in Kenitra, 6 in Rabat 4 in Salé, 2 in Sidi Slimane and 2 in Khemisset. For its part, the Draa-Tafilalet region recorded 51 new cases: 22 in Ouarzazate, 16 in Zagora, 6 in Tinghir, 4 in Midelt and 3 in Errachdia.

In the Oriental region, 40 infections have been confirmed: 19 in Nador, 16 in Oujda, 2 in Taourirt, 1 in Jerada, 1 in Figuig and 1 in Berkane. As for Souss-Massa, 33 cases were recorded: 27 in Agadir Ida Outanane, 4 in Tata and 2 in Inzegane Ait Melloul.

Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab confirmed 16, all in Dakhla. Laayoune-Es Sakia El Hamra recorded 10 cases: 7 in Laayoune, 2 in Boujdour and 1 in Es-Smara. Guelmim-Oued Noun for its part has recorded 3 additional cases in the last 24 hours: 2 in Guelmim and 1 in Tan Tan.
