The judicial police of the provincial district of Boujdour foiled, Tuesday evening, an irregular immigration operation and arrested two individuals aged 19 and 36, suspected of having links with a criminal network active in the organization of illegal migration and human trafficking.
The two suspects were arrested in the Al Wahda neighborhood in Boujdour, in coordination with the local authorities, said the National Police (DGSN) in a statement, specifying that the suspects were caught red-handed while attempting to assist in the immigration of five candidates, including a minor, via the sea routes to the coasts of the Canary Islands.
The main suspect was taken into police custody, while his accomplice and the candidates for irregular immigration underwent a judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, with the aim of determining the ins and outs of this case and identifying all the accomplices involved in this criminal network, concluded the DGSN.
