The MOLDIAG startup, created by the Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science, Innovation and Research (MASCIR), has launched the large-scale production of a 100% Moroccan diagnostic kit for COVID-19 testing after having obtained, in May 2020, national and international validations.

The kit has already received a first order of 100,000 units from the Ministry of Health, MAScIR said Thursday in a press release, noting that it obtained national and international validations.

MOLDIAG has accelerated its equipment with the necessary materials for a large-scale production, the source said, adding that it completed on June 30, 2020, the laboratory production of 10,000 diagnostic tests of Sars-CoV2/Covid-19, which have been delivered to public authorities.

With the product registration certificate, issued by the Ministry of Health on July 21, 2020, MOLDIAG can now produce and market its kit, with a production capacity of 1 million diagnostic kits per month.

MOLDIAG has benefited from the precious confidence of the Ministry of Health with a first order of 100,000 kits and undertakes to respond in the best conditions to its new requests as to all those from the public authorities.

Regarding the availability on the market of the Sars-CoV2/Covid-19 MAScIR Kit, discussions are underway with potential local distributors.

These diagnostic kits will be provided to Moroccan laboratories at a competitive price, which will increase the screening capacity in the wake of the spike in coronavirus cases in Morocco, according to the same source.

Created in 2007, MAScIR is a Moroccan foundation which aims to promote and develop research and development centers in Morocco that meet the country's needs in advanced technologies, particularly in the medical biology sector.
