As of Sunday, Morocco reopened its borders, closed since March to stem the spread of the new coronavirus, in order to welcome foreign nationals.
In an email addressed to members of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), the president of the body Chakib Alj announced a «simplification of the procedure of access of foreign professionals to Morocco».
«I am pleased to inform you that the simplified procedure is operational as of today September 6, 2020», he wrote, adding that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans residing at the foreigner, Nasser Bourita approved «that foreign nationals who have a hotel reservation» to access the country.
«Foreign nationals with a confirmed hotel reservation in Morocco will be able to access the Moroccan territory», CGEM reported. The new decision «implies to foreign nationals who are not subject to the visa formality».
Last week, CGEM announced that it had received the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to allow foreign nationals to travel to Morocco for professional reasons.
