All medical biology laboratories can now perform molecular screening by qRT-PCR for SARS-CoV2, with or without serology testing.
According to a circular from the Health Ministry, all medical biology laboratories can now perform molecular screening by qRT-PCR for SARS-CoV2 with or without serology tests provided that they meet all the requirements of the specifications of its second version.
This measure is part of the strengthening of the network of Covid-19 molecular and serology screening laboratories, so as to make these tests accessible to Moroccans and foreigners and ensure wide coverage throughout Morocco.
The relevant laboratories wishing to join the network can download the latest version of the specifications from www.inh.ma and make a request accompanied by the said specifications duly dated, signed and stamped with the mention "read and approved" for a receipt issued by the regional health directorate governing their activity, stressed the same source.
The directorate will communicate and keep informed the command post concerned and the National Institute of Hygiene (INH) of the list of laboratories that have joined the said network.
Authorized laboratories are called upon to report all results to the health directorates and delegations, within 24 hours of sample-taking, on the Health ministry's computer platform.
In accordance with the terms of circulars no. 39/INH/2020 of 20 May 2020, no. 44 of 04 June 2020 and no. 72 of 12 September 2020, the activities of these private laboratories will be subject to unannounced checks coordinated by the INH, in collaboration with regional health teams, the health ministry concluded.
