During a press conference held by videoconference on Thursday, Atlas Lions’ manager Vahid Halilhodzic revealed the names of players expected to join the national football squad, which will face Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo in two friendlies.
Overall, Vahid Halilhodzic will rely exclusively on professional footballers playing abroad. Indeed, no Botola pro player has been summoned.

Noussair Mazraoui from Ajax Amsterdam, Issam Chebbak from Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor, Hamza Mendyl from Schalke 04 and Nabil Dirat, defender of Fenerbahçe SK were also summoned to join the national team for the two friendlies. Regarding the absence of Moroccan international Abderrazak Hamdallah, playing for Saudi club Al Nasr, Vahid Halilhodzic explained that the player again refused to respond to the invitation of the national team. The Atlas Lions coach said he personally called Hamdallah, as did his assistant Mustapha Haji before that, adding that the striker justified this refusal by his desire to concentrate on his international career.
