Barbadian singer and businesswoman Rihanna has apologized for using an Islamic Hadith in a runway clip for her fashion brand Fenty.

The singer has been under fire for featuring the song «Doom», created by London producer Coucou Chloe, in her latest Fenty fashion show. The song, deemed controversial, includes samples from verses of the Hadith mixed into the beat.

In her Instagram account, the Umbrella singer said that she finds the use of the song «irresponsible» and described it as an «honest, yet careless mistake».

«We understand that we have hurt many of our Muslim brothers and sisters, and I am incredibly disheartened by this!» she wrote on her Instagram account.

«I do not play with any kind of disrespect toward God or any religion and therefore the use of the song in our project was completely irresponsible. Moving forward we will make sure nothing like this happens again».

Coucou Chloe had also apologized for using Hadith in her song. «I want to deeply apologize for the offence caused by the vocal samples used in my song Doom. The song was created using samples from Bail Funk tracks I found online. At the time, I was not aware that these samples used text from an Islamic Hadith», she wrote on her Instagram.
