In its 2018 Country Reports on terrorism, the US Department of State addressed the efforts made by Morocco to counter terrorism. Although the country has managed to mitigate threats it is still occasionally targeted by small independent terror cells.
The fall of former US National Security Advisor has apparently had an impact on the draft resolution that Washington submitted to the UN Security Council on the Sahara. But to Rabat, it is too soon to claim victory as South Africa is not willing to sit idly by.
During the US-Morocco Strategic Dialogue, held Tuesday in Washington DC, the two countries discussed bilateral and international issues, without addressing the Western Sahara conflict.
