After the United Arab Emirates normalized ties with Israel, the United States is planning to convince other Arab countries into following suit. A US-led regional peace summit is planned of that purpose and Morocco would have been one of the countries that confirmed participation.
Israel's Prime Minister is reportedly planning to bring Arab officials together for a summit, to be held after the March 2 election. The meeting is expected to take place in Cairo but without the presence of Morocco.
Brahim Ghali left the headquarters of the African Union without meeting the main figures of the continental grouping, as did his «Minister of Foreign Affairs», who held no talks with his African supposed «counterparts».
In the absence of a Moroccan official delegation, the Justice and Charity Group and the Unity and Reform Movement attended an Islamic summit in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur. The latter was marked by tensions between Riyadh and Ankara.
