Morocco has ranked the same as last year in the Global Firepower Military Strength Index which compares the military might of 145 states. The Kingdom ranked 61st in the world, but remains far behind Algeria, currently ranked 26th.
Morocco has improved its ranking in the Global Firepower Military Strength Index which compares the military might of 138 states. The Kingdom thus gained 3 places this year, ranked 53rd in the world, but remains far behind Algeria, currently ranked 27th.
Moroccan military is among the strongest military powers in North Africa, according to the Military Strength Ranking. The latter indicates that the Kingdom relies on a mix of old and new equipment and employs several hundred thousand active and reserve personnel on call.
Morocco spent 3.28% of its GDP in 2016 on its military, according to CIA World Factbook. Data, collected by the US agency, suggests that the Kingdom is ranked second in North Africa, behind Algeria.
