10.16.قُل لَّوْ شَاء اللّهُ مَا تَلَوْتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلاَ أَدْرَاكُم بِهِ فَقَدْ لَبِثْتُ فِيكُمْ عُمُراً مِّن قَبْلِهِ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُونَ

10.16. Dis-leur : «Si Dieu l'avait voulu, je ne vous l'aurais pas récité et Il ne vous l'aurait pas fait connaître. Et avant cela, je suis bien demeuré parmi vous toute une vie sans le faire. Ne raisonnez-vous donc point?»

10.16 . Say : If Allah had so willed I should not have recited it to you nor would He have made it known to you . I dwelt among you a whole lifetime before it ( came to me ) . Have ye then no sense?

10.16. Qul law shaa Allahu ma talawtuhu AAalaykum wala adrakum bihi faqad labithtu feekum AAumuran min qablihi afala taAAqiloona

10.17.فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللّهِ كَذِباً أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِآيَاتِهِ إِنَّهُ لاَ يُفْلِحُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ

10.17. Y a-t-il plus injuste que celui qui invente des mensonges sur Dieu ou qui traite Ses versets d'impostures? Mais Dieu ne permettra jamais à ces coupables de réussir.

10.17 . Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah and denieth His revelations? Lo! the guilty never are successful .

10.17. Faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththaba bi-ayatihi innahu la yuflihu almujrimoona

10.18.وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ مَا لاَ يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلاَ يَنفَعُهُمْ وَيَقُولُونَ هَـؤُلاء شُفَعَاؤُنَا عِندَ اللّهِ قُلْ أَتُنَبِّئُونَ اللّهَ بِمَا لاَ يَعْلَمُ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلاَ فِي الأَرْضِ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

10.18. En dehors de Dieu, ils adorent des idoles qui ne peuvent ni les servir ni leur nuire, en disant : «Voilà nos intercesseurs auprès de Dieu !» Dis-leur : «Auriez-vous donc la prétention d'apprendre à Dieu ce qu'Il ne connaîtrait pas dans les Cieux et sur la Terre?» Gloire à Lui ! Il est très au-dessus de ce qu'ils Lui associent !

10.18 . They worship beside Allah that which neither hurteth them nor profiteth them , and they say : These are our intercessors with Allah . Say : Would ye inform Allah of ( something ) that He knoweth not in the heavens or in the earth? Praised be He and high exalted above all that ye associate ( with Him ) !

10.18. WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yadurruhum wala yanfaAAuhum wayaqooloona haola-i shufaAAaona AAinda Allahi qul atunabbi-oona Allaha bima la yaAAlamu fee alssamawati wala fee al-ardi subhanahu wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona

10.19.وَمَا كَانَ النَّاسُ إِلاَّ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَاخْتَلَفُواْ وَلَوْلاَ كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ فِيمَا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ

10.19. Les hommes ne formaient à l'origine qu'une seule et même communauté. Puis des divisions surgirent entre eux , et si ton Seigneur n'avait pas pris une décision préalable à ce sujet, Il aurait déjà mis fin à leurs points de divergence.

10.19 . Mankind were but one community ; then they differed ; and had it not been for a word that had already gone forth from thy Lord it had been judged between them in respect of that wherein they differ .

10.19. Wama kana alnnasu illa ommatan wahidatan faikhtalafoo walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika laqudiya baynahum feema feehi yakhtalifoona

10.20.وَيَقُولُونَ لَوْلاَ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ فَقُلْ إِنَّمَا الْغَيْبُ لِلّهِ فَانْتَظِرُواْ إِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ الْمُنتَظِرِينَ

10.20. Ils disent : «Si seulement son Seigneur lui permettait d'accomplir un miracle !» Réponds-leur : «Le mystère relève uniquement de Dieu ! Attendez donc ! Je serai avec vous, parmi ceux qui attendent !»

10.20 . And they will say : If only a portent were sent down upon him from his Lord! Then say ( O Muhammad ) : The Unseen belongeth to Allah . So wait! Lo , I am waiting with you .

10.20. Wayaqooloona lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi faqul innama alghaybu lillahi faintathiroo innee maAAakum mina almuntathireena
