46.26.وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّاهُمْ فِيمَا إِن مَّكَّنَّاكُمْ فِيهِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَمْعاً وَأَبْصَاراً وَأَفْئِدَةً فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَلَا أَبْصَارُهُمْ وَلَا أَفْئِدَتُهُم مِّن شَيْءٍ إِذْ كَانُوا يَجْحَدُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُون

46.26. Nous les avions pourvus pourtant de moyens dont vous n'avez pas bénéficiés vous-mêmes. Nous leur avions bien donné l'ouïe, la vue et l'intelligence , mais ni l'ouïe, ni la vue, ni l'intelligence ne leur furent d'aucune utilité, pour avoir nié les signes de Dieu. Et les châtiments qu'ils tournaient en dérision les cernèrent de toutes parts.

46.26 . And verily We bad empowered them with that where with We have not empowered you , and had assigned them ears and eyes and hearts ; but their ears and eyes and hearts availed them naught since they denied the revelations of Allah ; and what they used to mock befell them .

46.26. Walaqad makkannahum feema in makkannakum feehi wajaAAalna lahum samAAan waabsaran waaf-idatan fama aghna AAanhum samAAuhum wala absaruhum wala af-idatuhum min shay-in ith kanoo yajhadoona bi-ayati Allahi wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oona

46.27.وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا مَا حَوْلَكُم مِّنَ الْقُرَى وَصَرَّفْنَا الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

46.27. Nous avons fait périr nombre de cités qui vous entouraient, après avoir multiplié les signes à leur intention, dans l'espoir de les faire revenir au droit chemin.

46.27 . And verily We have destroyed townships round about you , and displayed ( for them ) Our revelation , that haply they might return .

46.27. Walaqad ahlakna ma hawlakum mina alqura wasarrafna al-ayati laAAallahum yarjiAAoona

46.28.فَلَوْلَا نَصَرَهُمُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ قُرْبَاناً آلِهَةً بَلْ ضَلُّوا عَنْهُمْ وَذَلِكَ إِفْكُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ

46.28. Si seulement ceux qu'ils avaient pris, en dehors de Dieu, comme divinités pour prétendument les rapprocher de Lui les avaient secourus, au lieu de disparaître carrément sans laisser de trace ! Tel fut le résultat de leur imposture et de ce qu'ils inventaient comme mensonges.

46.28 . Then why did those whom they had chosen for gods as a way of approach ( unto Allah ) not help them? Nay , but they did fail them utterly . And ( all ) that was their lie , and what they used to invent

46.28. Falawla nasarahumu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi qurbanan alihatan bal dalloo AAanhum wathalika ifkuhum wama kanoo yaftaroona

46.29.وَإِذْ صَرَفْنَا إِلَيْكَ نَفَراً مِّنَ الْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقُرْآنَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوا أَنصِتُوا فَلَمَّا قُضِيَ وَلَّوْا إِلَى قَوْمِهِم مُّنذِرِينَ

46.29. Souviens-toi de ce groupe de djinns que Nous dirigeâmes vers toi pour entendre réciter le Coran et qui, une fois en ta présence, dirent : «Soyons attentifs !» Et quand la lecture fut achevée, ils s'en retournèrent auprès des leurs pour les avertir.

46.29 . And when We inclined toward thee ( Muhammad ) certain of the Jinn , who wished to hear the Quran and , when they were in its presence , said : Give ear! and , when it was finished , turned back to their people , warning .

46.29. Wa-ith sarafna ilayka nafaran mina aljinni yastamiAAoona alqur-ana falamma hadaroohu qaloo ansitoo falamma qudiya wallaw ila qawmihim munthireena

46.30.قَالُوا يَا قَوْمَنَا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا كِتَاباً أُنزِلَ مِن بَعْدِ مُوسَى مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْحَقِّ وَإِلَى طَرِيقٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

46.30. «Ô notre peuple, dirent-ils, nous venons d'entendre un Livre révélé après Moïse, qui confirme les Écritures anciennes, mène tout droit à la Vérité et conduit à la voie de la rectitude !

46.30 . They said : O our people! Lo! we have heard a Scripture which hath been revealed after Moses , confirming that which was before it , guiding unto the truth and a right road .

46.30. Qaloo ya qawmana inna samiAAna kitaban onzila min baAAdi moosa musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi yahdee ila alhaqqi wa-ila tareeqin mustaqeemin
