On January the 30th, General Affairs Minister Lahcen Daoudi announced that Morocco will start capping fuel prices in March. The Conseil de la Concurrence, a Moroccan authority charged with combatting anti-competitive practices, disapproved of Daoudi’s decision.
While trying to diversify energy resources, Morocco is attracting oil and natural gas investors. According to a Forbes analyst, the Kingdom’s plan might create obstacles for these foreign oil and gas exploration and production companies.
Morocco is to start capping fuel prices in March, General Affairs Minister Lahcen Daoudi said in a video published by his party’s website. The decision comes after it was announced in 2018.
According to the recent edition of the Economic Freedom Index, Morocco’s economy is the freest in North Africa. The country managed to improve its performance by implementing multiple financing options.
