I am planning a visit in July to my hometown Casablanca. I prefer to stay in hotels than with relatives. I am not a snob but just like my freedom in my hometown. I haven’t stayed in the corniche hotels before after reading some of the reviews foreigners have left made me think twice and a bit confused to which one to go for. I know that some of these reviews is only the individuals own experience combined with the lack of understanding the culture and the language barrier. Has anyone got any recommendations of nice place four /five stars and up to £50 a night BB it has to be by the coast. I have been staying in Hotel Basma in boulevard Hassan 1 but the service and the hotel is going downwards.
Good to hear from you mate and thank you in advance. I am going mid July for two weeks. I will spend one week in Casa and the second week in Marrakech. Definitely Marrakech has now superior 4/5 star hotels compared to any other cities in our country. Which area do your parents live in? Have a nice time there.

So, you're going to Morocco, lucky you! Don't forget to take notes of all the changes back home (in Morocco). we expect a full report of the truth and nothing but the truth Never mind which hotel you will stay in, as long as it has a free internet access to stay in contact with your fellow Yabiladians Seriously, don't forget to ask for a discount. As a Moroccan, you are entitled at least to a LCR (local corporate rate)... Novotel Casablanca City Centre should be a nice option of 4* hotels... Ibis Moussafir City Centre is another one of 3* hotels. Have great moments in Morocco and give my best regards to all the Moroccans... Should you change your mind, you are more than welcome to join me for the world cup in South Africa even if I know that nothing replaces Morocco
Thank you proudly Moroccan. The short list I made in town kenizi Basma, barcello,Club Val D'anfa and by the cost Azur hotel,la corniche, oum palace in Marrakech simply again the mogador menara . I would love to go to south Africa mate too but not this year I am going to a wedding in Casa ( ca3bggzal, briwate etc..) you know the usual things.
Dear all Hope you are all ok, jut came back last week from Casa; I have spent all in all a week in hotel Kenzi and a week in Mogador Menara in Marrakech. I can’t fault them both the Kenzi is outstanding the room was lovely but the view was mediocre which I knew in anyway; the breakfast wasn’t that great but the real coffee was absolutely fantastic. Should you go to Marrakech Mogador Menara is the one to choose; it’s very grand and has a nice pool, the food there the words would not do it justice describing how nice it was. The staffs are very professional. I am really, really surprised why the Europeans that go to our country don’t stay in these hotels instead they try to get a bargain and end up with more than they can chew then they come back complaining about everything. Compared to UK in the peak season was a real bargain.

You are right; the hotel industry in Morocco has really improved. The percentages that I got recently show a substantial improvement in terms of visitors even if we are still far from the objective laid by the Moroccan Government of 10,000,000 visitors per annum. Anyway, it is much better than a mere 2,000,000 visitors P/A in the nineties. The quality of the service is generally good but can be better. The infrastructure is also improving. The Capacity (number of rooms) is gradually increasing. The affordability is also there…. Needless to talk about the sun shine, the beaches, the rich culture and the people because we had all that all the time! All the ingredients are there for tourism to advance and put Morocco on the map as a one of the best destinations in the world.
I am proud to say that I am a pure Moroccan product in the Hotel Industry and have managed hotels in Africa, Europe and Asia and I dare say that with a little bit of hard work Morocco can be amongst the top ten destinations in the world.
By the way, I noticed in your posts that you have an eye for details while staying in hotels and you mix well with hotel staff. Are you sure we are not sharing the same field of interest?
Clients like you who contribute with their constructive criticism are always welcome in any hotel and should always have a VIP treatment

You are absolutely right we had and still have all of the ingredients for our country to be the best of the top holiday destination in the world. There are places in Morocco still unspoilt by the modernisation and have natural beauty.
