Hitman, Le Mask,

At least now we are having a discussion and trying to analyze things and determine what are the causes of some of the issues of Moroccan society. That gives me hope...

Just a couple of comments:

Hijab, just like wearing a beard, is no guarantee for moral values, last time I was in Morocco a veiled girl asked me for "rechoua" to produce a birth certificate in a hurry...I was so shocked I could not find the right words to answer her.

Men and women in Morocco are BOTH responsible for what is going on regarding moral decadence. Poverty exarcebates the situation but cannot be the only factor. Maybe some social education of the masses through popular tools like TV and Radio is needed to change the mindsets that promote this kind of degenerate behavior.

isnt it materialistic to say that it's because of poverty?
i prefer accusing lack of religion, lack of education... poverty is just... how to say... i dont know. a result? of lack of education...

the people wouldnt be poor if they were "good" in their heads... working hard, not stupid enough to buy useless crap from the Western countries?

i dont know...

@LeMask: Like Shireen says is poverty not the only factor, but it's by far the most common factor. People living in Morocco see the people from Europe coming with expensive cars, a lot of money etc...It's normal they try to reach Europe in all possible ways. They don't do it just for fun, but to get rich. Now we can blame the poverty as the main factor, but also education and not working hard in Morocco to make their dreams come true. Besides...In Morocco they still have the idea that you won't have a job even if you graduate. Because of that most of them don't even bother to continue their education and at the end of the road they are blaming the government because there is no work. I still don't understand people who don't do nothing and expect a lot from the government. Even when they get the chance to leave Morocco, they still can't get a normal work.

That besides: We really need a lot of social education in Morocco. People must learn to do things for their own country and not keep dreaming of reaching the other end of the world with a hot blonde girl and an exepensive car.

Peace.
