On Friday, King Mohammed VI flew to Cuba in an unofficial trip accompanied by Lalla Salma, Moulay El Hassan and Lalla Khadija. The royal family will spend a vacation in the republic which has declared several times its backup for the Polisario front. La Havana-based media reported that Cuban authorities rushed to reassure the Front about the King’s visit stressing on the fact that it would not affect their relations.
After 6 months of post-election deadlock, AKA blockage, members of the recently appointed prime minister’s cabinet were finally appointed by King Mohammed VI. The official procedure took place at the royal palace in Rabat, where 39 ministers and secretaries of state were sworn in. The ministerial posts’ list included familiar names who were able to keep their positions in the new government.
King Mohammed VI continues to remain absent from the Arab League summit. He did not attend the summit scheduled today in the capital of Jordan. Yet, Salaheddine Mezouar Minister of Foreign affairs and Cooperation participated in the regional organization's event to represent the Kingdom among the 21 countries.
