After more than four decades, the Polisario Front has opted for the single-party system. Now, the separatist movement’s leadership is intending to create its own opposition. It decided to roll out the red carpet to the coordinating committee of the «Sahrawi Initiative for Change» and prepare it to speak for the voiceless.
The Polisario Front has issued a statement urging the European Commission to give legal clarity over a delegation that visited Laayoune to update the list of companies authorized to export their products to the EU. Angered by this visit, the Front referred to the European Court of Justice’ ruling. Meanwhile, Morocco has succeeded in holding negotiations to overcome the obstacles set by the same verdict.
After months of silence, the Polisario Front is again complaining about the Moroccan presence in the Guerguerate area. In a letter sent to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Brahim Ghali, urged the organization to change the situation in the buffer zone.
