The Polisario Front continues to beat the drum of war, a few days after announcing that it was withdrawing from the 1991-ceasefire agreements with Morocco.

Speaking to EFE, and quoted by Futuro Sahara, Khatra Addouh, a member of the Polisario Front secretariat, said yesterday that «the war will continue as long as the United Nations disengages from its responsibilities and does not recognize the mistakes of the past». «They must put pressure on Morocco to accept international legitimacy and the 1991 agreements», he insisted.

Khatri Addouh claims that Morocco would be «fully responsible for the collapse of the ceasefire agreement signed 29 years ago due to its attack on Friday against a group of peaceful Sahrawis in Guerguerate». «We entered a new phase about three days ago because of the position taken by Morocco to end the ceasefire», he added, considering that the Polisario was «forced to make such a decision».

The member of the Polisario secretariat also lambasted MINURSO and the UN secretariat, accusing the former of having «failed» and the latter of «not transmitting the reality on the ground to the Security Council» and of having «accepted the resignation of Horst Köhler».

In a similar statement, granted to Algerian public radio, Polisario «ambassador» in Algiers Abdelkader Taleb Omar said that «the Polisario Front is convinced that military action is what will make a difference».

«After the Guerguerate crisis, we are in a state of war with the occupation, and the bombing of Moroccan military sites will continue», he threatened.
