After spending two months in a Germany hospital fighting against his Covid-19 infection, Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune returned Tuesday to Algeria. In a brief statement, he reassured Algerians, saying that there are only a few steps left before his full recovery.

Tebboune this time chose official media to speak directly to his compatriots. The clips broadcast Tuesday evening on television channels show the Head of State surrounded by the presidents of the House of Representatives, Slimane Chenine, and of the Senate, Salah Goudjil, as well as General Said Chengriha, the head of armed forces, among others attending a welcoming ceremony.

Abdelmajid Tebboune is expected to chair a council of ministers to sign the new constitution, adopted through a referendum in November.

For the record, Tebboune was transferred, Wednesday, October 28, 2020, to Germany «to follow in-depth medical examinations on the recommendation of his medical staff», announced the Algerian presidency in a press release relayed by APS.
