Morocco : A five-year-old child slaughtered by a man with mental illness in Errachidia

A man, who suffers from a mental disorder, killed a five-year-old child, Sunday, in a village near the town of Boudhnib, near the city of Errachidia. Several media sources reported that the alleged killer, originally from the city of Oujda, is on psychotropic drugs.

He allegedly approached a group of children who were playing football. With a big knife, he allegedly threatened to slaughter them. They were all able to escape, except the victim.

The alleged killer would have slaughtered the child on the spot. According to the same sources, he had previously «slaughtered a donkey and cattle belonging to citizens».

The local authorities and the Royal Gendarmerie were able to arrest the suspected killer. An investigation was opened, while the body of the victim was transferred to the morgue.
