A 33-year-old Danish man, jailed in Morocco for being the alleged «mastermind» behind private torrent tracker DanishBits, has been extradited to Denmark. Arrested in Morocco in October 2020, the man was heard at the Copenhagen City Court, Thursday, and remanded in custody for 25 days, Torrent Freak reported.

The man in question is suspected of being one of the owners of a site called DanishBits. The latter is a private torrent tracker that attracted millions of visits per month. Danish anti-piracy group Rights Alliance denounced the activities of this site and reported it to the police

In December 2020, Denmark’s State Prosecutor for Serious Economic Crime (SØIK) revealed that «a 33-year-old Danish man had been arrested in Morocco, following an investigation prompted by a formal complaint from local piracy group Rights Alliance».
