Covid-19 in Morocco : 579 new infections and 7 deaths this Thursday

579 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 496,676. 4,329,244 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 3,767,210 people have received the second.

348 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 483,711.

7 deaths were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths to 8,825. 5 of these deaths were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat, 1 in Marrakech-Safi and 1 in Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab.

The country has 4,140 active cases, including 439 in critical conditions. 26 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 409 infections: 313 in Casablanca, 34 in Nouaceur, 22 in Mohammedia, 12 in Settat, 11 in Berrechid, 8 in El Jadida, 7 in Mediouna and 2 in Benslimane. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 36 cases: 11 in Salé, 10 in Skhirat-Témara, 6 in Rabat, 4 in Kénitra, 4 in Sidi Kacem and 1 in Sidi Slimane.

Marrakech-Safi follows with 32 cases: 23 in Marrakech, 5 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 2 in Safi, 1 in Rhamna and 1 in the province of Al Haouz. 30 infections were recorded in Souss-Massa: 11 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 11 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul, 4 in Chtouka-Ait Baha, 2 in Taroudant and 2 in Tiznit.

Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima recorded 27 new cases: 23 in Tanger-Assilah, 2 in M'Diq-Fnideq, 1 in Tétouan and 1 in Larache. Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab recorded 16 new infections in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab.

There are also 16 confirmed cases in the Oriental region (9 in Oujda-Angad, 5 in Berkane, 1 in Jerada and 1 in Taourirt), 6 in Fès-Meknes (3 in Taza, 2 in Fès and 1 in Sefrou) as well as 3 in Beni Mellal (Beni Mellal-Khénifra).

2 cases were recorded in Errachidia (Draâ-Tafilalet), while Laâyoune (Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra) and Tan Tan (Guelmim-Oued Noun) each confirmed a new infection.
