The Tangier police arrested on Sunday 20 individuals, including three women, suspected of violating the state of health emergency and participating in the activities of a network which managed a gambling hall without authorization.

This operation was carried out on the basis of accurate information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), said a press release from the National Police (DGSN).

The police services carried out surveillance operations in two apartments, located in the Malabata neighborhood in Tangier, noted the same source, specifying that the owners have transformed these places into equipped areas, intended to attract people wishing to participate in gambling games.

The owners and managers of these apartments were arrested in addition to several clients.

The search operation of these places made it possible to seize tables and equipment used in these games, as well as sums of money suspected of resulting from this criminal activity, it noted.

The suspects were subjected to a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office in order to clarify this case, the statement concluded.
