A Spanish court refuses a request on arresting Brahim Ghali

Two court orders have rejected the arrest of Polisario leader Brahim Ghali and prevent him form leaving the Spanish soil following requests submitted to the Spanish justice by the Sahrawi Association for Human Rights (ASADEH) and Fadel Breika. 

Judicial sources quoted by EFE indicate that the judge of the National Court, Santiago Pedraz, refused the immediate arrest of the leader of the Polisario Front, indicating that this measure can be requested when he appears on June 1. 

The presence of Brahim Ghali in Spain for his hospitalization under a false identity has led to a diplomatic crisis between Rabat and Madrid.

Next month, the leader of the separatist movement is due to attend his hearing in a trial for kidnapping, torture, forcible confinement and war crimes. ASADEH asked the judge to order immediate detention, a request often approved by the judge.
