Elements of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) responsible for coastal surveillance intercepted a pirogue bound for the Canary Islands on Sunday.
The vessel, located 153 km south of Alargoub, carried 52 sub-Saharan irregular migrants, including 2 women, according to a statement from the FAR General Staff.
The rescued individuals received necessary medical attention before being handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for routine administrative procedures.
