The former US ambassador to Morocco commends the humanitarian aid sent by Morocco to Palestinians in Gaza and Al Quds via land routes.

«I am proud and delighted to witness this significant moment, facilitated by the Abraham Accords, which enabled the UN to deliver food and aid from Morocco to Northern Gaza through Israel», wrote David T. Fischer on Wednesday on his X account.

The diplomat credited this achievement to the Abraham Accords, stating that they «continue to make a difference in the world».

Fischer, who served as the former US ambassador to the kingdom, often comments on major events related to Morocco and the Abraham Accords, which were concluded in 2020 under the Trump administration. Notably, he praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision on July 17, 2023, to recognize Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara.

David T. Fischer was accredited to the Kingdom on December 22, 2020, coinciding with King Mohammed VI's signing of the Morocco-US-Israel Declaration in Rabat, which marked the resumption of diplomatic relations between Rabat and Tel Aviv, in exchange for Washington's recognition of Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara.
