The Italian Foreign Trade Agency (ICE/Ita) is launching an internationalization training course for Moroccan startups focused on innovation, from July 1 to 4 at the Casablanca Technoparc and at the end of October 2024 in Italy.

In collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Rabat, this initiative is part of the Lab Innova for Africa program, initiated by ICE in 2019 and involving 275 African companies focused on agribusiness. According to the Ansa news agency, this project is being implemented in Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Uganda, Tunisia, and Morocco.

Innova Lab brings together 22 innovative startups operating in the energy, greentech, agritech, medtech ICT, big data, fintech, blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), and mobility sectors. It also mentions that the in-person training, led by experts from the Ice/Ita Agency faculty, will be followed by a first webinar on July 8 and a second at the end of September 2024.

Additionally, the study tour phase in Italy will be organized in collaboration with the Lombardy Region, the University of Milan, which specializes in sectors focused on innovation, and the city's technology clusters. The trip will include visits to companies active in the sectors of interest, as well as meetings with various players in the Italian innovation ecosystem.

The program also includes a visit to the International Exhibition of Information Technology and Telecommunications (SMAU), scheduled for October 29 and 30 in Milan. Welcoming 50,000 visitors every year, this event has been supporting companies and their professionals throughout the innovation ecosystem for over 50 years.
