In the Tindouf camps, the Oulad Tidranine tribe seeks justice for one of its members, a trader who fell victim to the theft of a shipment of cell phones purchased in Mauritania, with an estimated value exceeding 8 million Algerian dinars (around 590,000 DH). The Polisario is accused of orchestrating the operation. A former Polisario member who had returned to the kingdom told Yabiladi that drug trafficking, smuggling, and the embezzlement of fuel or humanitarian aid are often managed by associates of certain senior Polisario officials.

Back in the camps, the trader lodged a complaint with the Polisario security services. However, according to the former member, his request was ignored, likely due to the weight of historical tribal considerations in the region. With no official recourse, the trader turned to his tribe for help.

After an urgent meeting, the Oulad Tidranine took action, setting fire to vehicles belonging to the gendarmerie. They framed it as a warning to the Polisario leadership to swiftly deliver justice for the shopkeeper. They further pointed out that those responsible for the theft of one of their own in the past had benefited from Polisario protection, fleeing the Tindouf camps to settle legally in Spain. The situation is likely to have deteriorated, according to the Oulad Tidranine.

The Oulad Tidranine, along with the Oulad Dlim and the Rguibates-Bouihates who participated in the 1988 Intifada, are considered marginalized by the Front's hierarchy.
