Ichem Zaher to make history as first Moroccan to attempt Enduroman

Ichem Zaher is set to make history as the first Moroccan to attempt the grueling Enduroman, a solo extreme triathlon from London to Paris. Currently based in Dakar on a commercial mission, Zaher aims to add a new chapter to Morocco's sporting legacy by competing in the event scheduled for August 19-28, 2024. The challenge involves a 140-kilometer run, a 40-kilometer swim across the English Channel, and a 300-kilometer bike ride to the French capital.

Armed with courage, perseverance, and unwavering determination, the Moroccan triathlete has rigorously prepared for this extraordinary adventure. «Beyond the physical feat, this challenge is a source of pride for me, inspiring young Moroccans and athletes globally to push their limits and believe in their potential», he told MAP.

Beyond the sporting aspect, Zaher is undertaking this endeavor to raise funds for cardiac surgeries for Senegalese children with heart conditions. «This humanitarian dimension deepens my commitment», he said, emphasizing that the triathlon is more than a competition; it's a test of human resilience.

With three Marathon des Sables finishes (twice in Morocco, once in Peru) and a dozen Ironman competitions under his belt, Zaher views the Enduroman as the ultimate test of endurance.

The Enduroman, nicknamed the «Arch to Arc», is a multi-day solo triathlon starting at London's Marble Arch and finishing at Paris' Arc de Triomphe. It comprises a cross-country run, an open-water swim, and a road cycling leg.
